Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing art that was discovered over 2500 years ago. It's roots are deep in India, Thailand, Buddhism, and Ayurveda. This practice is a powerful healing system that combines acupressure, breath work, energy work, rhythmic motion, and assisted yoga stretches to detoxify the body and stimulate energy (chi) flow. Thai massage is known for its focus on the sens “energy” lines and its unique bodywork techniques that help move stagnant energy - releasing tension and stress from the body.
During this immersion, you will have the opportunity to learn both the essence and techniques of a Traditional Thai Massage. The course will cover the history and theory of Thai massage and energy lines, including how to work with energy to develop a deeper level of body awareness and improve non-verbal communication. You will also have the opportunity to review basic Thai massage techniques while learning advanced skills, including proper body mechanics, advanced stretching, and how to perform Thai massage on a wide range of body types. At the end of the immersion, you will be able to incorporate these skills in your private sessions, yoga classes, or with friends. This course is open to Yoga Instructors who are interested in learning more about the body, energy lines, and joint mobility; Licensed Massage Therapists who want to study new techniques, as well as those who want to deepen their experience with giving and receiving this beautiful sacred practice.
